Hiking Trail Safety
Most parks have rules about what you can and can't do while hiking. If it's a wildlife park, chances are they don't want you to remove or disturb any plants or animals. Also, most parks want you to stay on recommended hiking paths. In addition, you can help the park reduce trail erosion as well as avoiding possible injury by staying off of muddy trails and not trying to find or make shortcuts. Finally, if you see a lake or pond, don't swim in it unless it's a designated swimming area with lifeguards on duty.
