Infant Safety And Care
Infant safety is a touchy issue, especially when it comes to the parents of the infant. You want to make sure you keep you infant as safe from danger as possible, but also be prepared in the event of an emergency. You can never be too safe or overprotect your infant. Practicing infant safety will give you peace of mind while also protecting your child. Your child is your most valuable asset and should be treated as such. Here are some infant safety tips and precautions for you to take note of. With these infant safety tips we hope life will be a lot safer.
Infant Safety Tips
Protecting your infant starts early. It starts before your infant even starts moving around the house. You want to childproof your house before your infant starts getting around and into everything. Make sure electrical sockets are plugged up with socket protectors. Don't leave electrical cords hanging around.
Another thing to keep in mind is where and how you put your infant to sleep. Do not put an infant on a soft surface (i.e. pillow, waterbed) because they are unable to lift their heads and can suffocate. And always have a baby monitor in the baby's room. Although they can't crawl, they can wiggle and get around just a bit. That's why you have to be careful and keep a close eye on them. A child can wiggle and fall off a changing table, or get out of a baby bathtub. Some may even be resourceful enough to wiggle out of their car seats, strollers or high chairs. Sometimes you may not even know what your infant can do until one day it surprises you. Imagine walking into your child's room one day and seeing that he can stand up in his crib. Great! but now an extra worry for you.
When it comes to infant safety, keep in mind that the safer you think, the safer they are.
